I really would like to start winding motors...I have done the spinbrush swap (not a hybrid, RS endcap to SB can with white motors crown (9? i forget) and white pinion gear). I know how the motors basically work, but I want to start taking them apart and winding them myself. The only thing is that I can't manage to start disassembling them without damaging them. To just get the crown gear off I have to take the end cap off then give the drive shaft a few taps with a hammer to allow the pinion puller to get behind the gear. I would like to know how to get all the componenets out of the motor without damaging any...I have found there are several rings that hold the motor together but beyond that I can only get it apart with a few taps with a hammer and I know it screws up the motors alignment with the magnets and such. My dad is an electrical engineer and I know he is a master in all the properties of electronics and I know me and him can make an ultimate motor (along with a FET mod) if I could just get these motors apart.
