A little Puchi bling-bling...

Picked up a Hot Wheels 'Petersen's Custom Classic Trucks' car (for the wheels).

Being my first wheel mod, I'm happy with the way it came out visually...But I did a horrible job on mounting the wheels and they wobble pretty badly.

Next set will turn out better, I hope!

Check it out:

How'd I get the spot welded body off?...A pair of channel locks and BRUTE force did the job.

These 'wobblers' will likely get transplanted to my clone...I'm holding off until I get some Jada City '1/64th Dub City' cars to cannibalize them for their rims.

Was it hard? 'Hard' is too general a word...I would say (at least as my first time doing it) it was frustrating, tedious and a little scary.

I definitely recommend NOT doing your first wheel mod a pricey Maru! Start off on a cheap clone that you done care if you bend the heck out of the axles and knuckles.

Not to mention a clone (by 'clone' I mean those cheap cars that are clones of the Tomy Bit Char-g, far as I know there is no Puchi clone) has similar setups as the Puchi as far as the wheels go, so it's good practice.

The frustrating part was that the hot wheels rims had smaller holes than the Maru axles, so I had to 'bore out' the holes (that's the tedious part). And I was scared because I didn't want to screw up any important components of the Puchi...Which I actually did when I warped one of the front knuckle rods that holds the wheel in.

The next time I'll do it better because I know better.

So Namuna...

When ya gonna add that 3rd cell and post it on your site so I can drool over it?

I'm P.O.'d. The pooch is back up to $99.99. Sale's off. I should have gotten one when I had the chance. A bill is a little steep for something like that don't ya think?

Ya know what I'd do? I would rig a bypass to the 3rd cell so you could take it out if you're racing a doggy Bit on a tight track. I have a tendancy to over-squeeze my propo on my Epoch on my kitchen floor now and then. I would probably do the same thing with these. Kinda like when Gallagher compared cooking a Quiche to scrambled eggs...

Um yeah, why not post a vid on your site anyway of your Pooch? I would like to see it in action a bit more.

Hey Strakka, how much coffee you been drinkin? You crazy, yo!!! 4cell would be insane. In fact, I wonder if it would hurt you in the long run. It would be a little more top heavy, so you'd have to slow down in the turns. What kind of tracks are ya using that you could benefit with a 4cell, drag strip? That'd be wack, man. Getting beat in yo muscle car by a honda minivan. Seriously, what tracks do y'all race on. I was going to clone Namuna's, but I decide to get the 2 of the Zip Zap track sets, because I wanna keep changing the layout so my driving skills don't get lax. (they're pretty sorry already, but I can barely hang)

Here's a pic if my melted kidney track I made last night to race on. The corners can be kinda tricky w/o hitting the rails.

Back to the insane speed, I put the blue 1.0 motor in my 3cell booster Zip Zap and run it on my track mainly w/o the boost on. The table that it sits on is a 4 foot circle. That's about the right size proportionally for a track for a 2-3" car right? If I had more space, I would build a BIG track for my supa' motors in my cars, but with my space, slower is better.

Anyway, I wanna see some vids of the added cell Pooch when y'all get 'em, K? I'm a broken record.

chelboed ~ well the thing with puchis is that there PROPO which means that you can go as fast as you want...... and still control it....... plus the Mini Z is crazy fast but its still controlable, so really its that big of a deal, anyways the reason why i want to go fast is so i can race against Mini Zs theres a race track here so if i can just get them to let me race.......

Yeah, sometimes I get too excited and lose my finesse, though. I get a little trigger happy with my Epoch and squeeze like an adrenaline deprived maniac with a pair of vice grips. You seen the movie version of "of mice and men"? I'm Lenny. hahahaha

If you put the smack down on a modded Mini-Z, you will be my hero. I don't expect you to whoop an int. turbo, but you could probably hang with a stock plus X-speed from the sounds of things (until you get to a curve). Anyway, let us know if you do. That'd rock my world.

I decided to add a little "Puchi Bling" myself.... found a DUBcity Avalanche kit with two sets of wheels...they fit the Puchi axles perfectly

I added a Vitz to our collection of mini R/C's this week.

I just couldn't pass up the $49.99 price tag.
(back to $99.99 now)

Have not had a change to run it yet as we also received a Mini-Z Overland and that has taken up most of my 'play time'!
