Newbie... couple of quick Q's
I just recently purchased a Mini-X RTR from dinball. sorry, just found this site and all the info. I bought it because the 4wd apealled more than the more expensive 2wd Mini-z. Onlyproblem is that there's a crap load more hop ups for the Z. I'm looking to upgrade the kit so i have a couple of questions.
I want to fit the Mini Z alloy wheels. Will they fit or will i have to mod?
Is the ESC the kyosho version? (It comes with the kyosho perfex tx)
Will mini-z bodies fit?
thanks.

The wheels can be made to fit, but they aren't a simple bolt-on. The ESC is totally different from the Mini-Z. The Mini-Z ESC is a combined ESC/RX, while the Mini-X has distinct ESC and Rx units. Mini-Z bodies will not fit without extensive modification, since the Mini-X is 1/24 scale while the Mini-Z is approx. 1/28 scale. Let us know if you have any other questions!

Damn... i was hoping the mini-z and mini-x shared more, mainly the esc. I really wanted to put on a turbo. Please tell me it will fit? Also are the motors the same size? can wise. I want to put on the heatsink to keep everything cool. Also does anyone know what it would take to put the mini-z wheels on the mini-x?
THanks for the help.

racerx,
If you want Mini X hop ups add the 6 celll battery, bearings and alum wheel nuts. The car does not need a turbo as the 6 cell battery is like adding a super charger! The Mini X motor can is the same size so the heatsink should work? The Kyosho controller is the unit Dinball sells with the Rtr mini X but the car does not come from the manufacture that way.

Supposedly the car comes with full bearings, I'm planning on getting the 6cell pack and aluminum wheel nuts. Only thing is i'm not to keen on the clear plastic wheels. I was thinking the turbo might keep things cooler but ohwell. But what i really want are the mini-z alum. wheels and i'm planning on scratch making a lot of parts at school (alum. arms, carbon chassis, etc). Does anyone know how to fit the wheels?
thanks

Racerx,
I have the ready-to-run Mini-x and it didn't come with bearings as I had expected also. Had to buy a set from this site (great service!) and I bought the 6cell battery pack (a must have) and then I was good to go. the car uses 2 packs of the large bearings and three packs of the small hub bearings. If you get the 6cell pack, you'll have to solder up some power leads and just solder in a Deans plug. I'm using the MRC Super Brain 959 charger and its perfect for it. Charger doesnt get hot as reported in some reviews, (at least not with these small packs). If you need any info or help feel free to ask..check out my F40 in the gallery..

Note that this is only if you buy from us - the car does not come with BB standard, it's a special promotion that we are running. As IRC explained, no need for a turbo on the X as it has a proper ESC. And do a Search and you should be able to find the post where someone mounted Z wheels to their X using Z diff parts.

I got the car on e-bay and the ad said the car with full bearings... but we'll see when it gets here. I did a search and got nothing. I want the wheels because you can get diff. widths and i've noticed on the lexan bodies with the x the wheels are in so far. I remember seeing it, but can't find it and i don't think he mentioned how he adapted the wheels. I found a pic of the back side of the mini-z wheels.( It was attached so i don't really know but i thought i saw a slot in the back. can someone please confirm this.)
How are the x wheels attached?
(so they turn with the dogbone instead of when the car moves... ie, a pin only or the 1/10 scale equivilent of the pin/hex adapter)
The six cell pack seems good, but i'm thinking of just sticking with the four for now because i'll just be thrashing and drifing around the dorm. also will the z light set fit the x? or will i have to scratch it out of LEDs?
thanks guys
