I'm very new to the bit scene. But wouldn't you have to use 2 of the same type of engine? I'm thinking that if 2 different speed engines trying to turn the gear at 2 different rates it would conflict.

Ok....let's think of it this way....
A chain is only as stong as it's weakest link.
If you have two motors LINKED together, the 1.0 will work adversley against the 2.6. (The 2.6 will not make the 1.0 run faster) Infact, I believe that one of them would burn out. You might be better off spending the extra coin and getting another 2.6.
