These look too cool, so I had to have one

On the way home I stopped by a Walmart in hopes of finding the puzzle pads that some carry - it's similar to RCP in material, comes in 2' squares, and the edges fit together like a puzzle. I bought two packs at $18 each, and put up a small track in the den. I have some foam to make railing with too but I couldn't wait to get this thing on the track, so I just imagined the barriers. The surface worked better than I expected. The joints were a little bumpy but once I get a more permanent location for it I plan to tape over them in hopes it smooths it out. It didn't really cause any hopping but there was a clicking as you crossed the joints.
I had a ton of fun on the first drive, went for maybe half an hour and didn't run the battery all the way down. The car in the video is out of the box, no mods or setup adjustments. It has a bit of push on this surface but with a little practice on braking I could get some decent laps in pretty soon after picking it up for the first time.
Let me know what you think!
