What ZZ SE Models Would You Like to See?

Personally, I would like to see more muscle car bodies. To me, the muscle car bodies (Chevelle, GTO, Boss Mustang, Cuda) have looked the best so far. I think this is partially due to the fact that the proportions of those cars were more accomodating to the ZZ SE's high profile chassis and RS starting using bodies with separate front and rear pieces. Many of the other bodies just look too out of proportion. This is especially true the Viper and the Ford GT, which I found very disappointing. The new Mustang Mach 1 is actually very well proportioned and seems to have a slightly longer nose than previous models. I hope this trend continues on future models.

So, if RS plans to continue using that high profile chassis, they should come up with some car models with proportions that can accommodate it.

Some models that come to mind for now include:
- Any year Dodge Super Bee
- 67-69 Camaro/Firebird (I know there are non-SE versions, But I would like to see these in an SE with the multi-piece bodies)
- Early 70's Camaro/Firebird
- 60's box Nova
- Chevy Nomad
- Ford Torino GT
- 60's Shelby Mustang
- Shelby Cobra

I'd also like to see some muscle car wheel and tire sets that are not the hubcap style. I'd like to see actual rims and raised white letter tires. Wheel kits like this would drastically improve the look of the cars.

took the words right outa my mouth! i'd like to see a 55 chevy too. the wheel kit would be the ultimate. the only problem is the wheels are already the wrong size. they would have to be smaller rims with special made tires to fit the wheels already on the ZZ's.

I realize that RS already released a '63 'Vette body. But, after seeing an aquaintance's '65 cherry red convertable Corvette Stingray (he travels the Southeast US in his free time participating in car shows with it), I'd LOVE to add a similar Zap body to my collection -

Lastly, I'd KILL for some oooooold pickup trucks. The older step-side Fords would fit the ticket just perfectly (ya know, they must have made a million of them in that auqua/green color), but man, I'd love to have a replica of my old no-longer-around 1965 blue Dodge D-300 Camper Special -

gtr...some 50's Chevys would look cool and those bodies would definitely accomodate that SE chassis as it is.

Concerning the wheels...Any rim type wheels would be an improvement over the current style wheels. I understand why RS uses the current design...so that you can easily and quickly change the look of your wheels when you change bodies on the chassis. But, wheels are half the look of the car in my opinion, and the current design just doesn't look all that good. I'd quickly give up the easy to change hubcap style wheels for some really nice looking one piece rims.

When I said wheel kits, I was thinking that the kits would contain the back axel with the rims and gear attached and two front rims with the knuckles. The kit would also contain tires specially made for these wheels. The sidewalls would need to be a higher profile to look right and some versions with raised white lettering would be cool. The rear wheels could be wider than the front in some kits if you want that look, but they should NOT be as wide as the wide wheels adapters make the wheels in the wide tire kit.

Weeds...I would definitely go for some 60's vettes specifically for the SE if RS can get the dimensions right. The wheel wells on the '63 are way out of proportion. Some old pickups would definitely be cool, but I'm not sure you can get that low old style pick up look with the current design of the SE chassis. I don't think you would be able to get the truck bed low enough. They would need some custom wheels for the truck bodies as well. I put the new Chevy Silverado body on and SE chassis and it looks like ass because the wheels look too scrawny.

I definitely would like to see more old American muscle cars. 67-69 GTOs would be sweet. I would also like to see some theme cars such as the General Lee, KITT and even the Mystery Machine would be cool. I know we are talking cars here but I would like to see a Monster Truck SE with a better controlling like the SE cars. My MT is popping wheelies with the upgraded engine. I would like to have variable acceleration. Even a wheelie bar! I hope Santa and his elves are reading this thread!

I wish this thread hadn't fizzled out so quickly. I like to hear what my fellow TinyRc-ers would like to add to their collections.

I agree with you guys. More muscle car and old school truck bodies would be cool. I like the way the muscle car bodies ride on the SE's.

Some theme cars-
-KITT
-the A-Team van
-a green 1968 Ford Mustang like the one from Bullitt
-The Mystery van
-General Lee (of course)
-any of the James bond cars---could be an upgrade kit. Old and New
-Old Bat Mobile

I realize all of these require RS getting license rights, which equal $. I guess I can only dream....for now.

I would like to see Old VW- Like the Beetle, The Thing, and The Classic split front window VW Bus.

I like the idea of raised white lettering on the tires. It would give my GTO the right look. I was not impressed with the extra wide tire upgrade kit. I found the wider rear tires made my SE slower and harder to control. Could just be me.....
I would like to see some wider low profile tire sets. Unfortunately, with the current hub cap, rim, tire configuration this isn't possible.

Mootch...

Those theme cars would be cool. I don't think RS would have a problem spending the cash to get the licensing rights. They have done it in the past with the Fast and Furious cars, the Torino, Thornberries, Cat in the Hat, Hulk, Spiderman, Bigfoot, etc. They also have to get all the rights from the car manufacturers...GM, Ford, etc.

I want to add to your list...

Speed Racer Mach 5
Racer X Shooting Star
Other Speed Racer character cars like Snake Oiler's car, etc.

A VW micro bus would be cool. I beleive RS did have plans to put out a VW Beetle for the regular ZZ's some time ago, but it was scrapped for some reason. I think the original German imports kit with the red and black Porsches was actually supposed to be a Porsche and a VW Beetle. They probably had trouble getting licensing rights. I'll bet Namuna or Weeds has a photo of it someplace.

I think it is obvious from the suggestions in this thread that there is a good following of "older" ZZ hobbyists here. It would be nice if RS catered to that fact and took some of these suggestions to heart. They would definitely be getting more of my money if they did.

Maverick...

I would agree with the anything Italian, however, Italian sports cars just won't look good on the current SE chassis. This has been discussed a little in other threads, but the SE chassis just has too high of a profile to allow any low-slung sports cars to look good on it.

Case in point....the Ford GT, a beautiful american supercar, looks like ass on the SE chassis. I was very disappointed by that one. The GT is a favorite car of mine.

Until RS can work on getting that chassis lower, I prefer to not see them attempt to make anymore exotic sports cars. It can be done. If noone else has seen them, there is a company working on some new small scale RC cars. The Company is XXap or Metl Tech. Here is their website:

http://www.xxap.com/go.html

Some discussion threads on these cars:
http://www.tinyrc.com/forums/showthr...threadid=19455

http://www.tinyrc.com/forums/showthr...threadid=20629

Here is a link to a vid from a guy who seems to have gotten a hold of one of these, but he is being pretty quiet about it. I've got a feeling he is gearing up to be selling them himself:

http://www.bonzergear.com/html/metl_tech.htm

So, as you can see it is possible, but it looks like it may come at a price. If RS can get a similar chassis design together and keep the price close to the crrent ZZ SE, they would sell tons....to me at least anyway

Sdog-

I like the Speed racer idea.
I was thinking some of the Simpsons cars would be cool.

You are right about the radio shack getting licenses for different theme cars. If they appeal to many different people then it means more money for them.(and more ZipZap nuts like us)

Do you think the 'older' collectors fit into RS's age demographic?

Probably not originally. But there are a few micro forums with a strong "older" presence...including the ZZ threads here. I'm sure these little cars are being created with kids in mind, the F&F stuff is a good example. But since RS came out with that SE Muscle Car line, it makes you wonder if they realize there are a good amount of older collectors out there.

Good point I never thought of it that way.

I am psyched. Tonight, I got the Ford Mustang Mach 1. I still have to assemble it, but I can't wait to run a few laps on my track. I'll keep you posted.

EDIT: See Radio Shack just got some more money from an "older" collector. LOL!!

Another thing I would like to see...

Chassis Sets. It would be nice to be able to buy a few spare chassis withouth the Tx. I would even settle for chassis sets with bodies. I've already got way more controllers than I need and some bodies that don't have chassis.

Heh please don't kill me for breaking the muscle chain, but I'd really like to see a Nissan Skyline R34 (the R32 and R33 would also be great). Not that tuned crap from FnF, but a real Skyline, preferably in the Pearl Black or Bayside Blue colors. I'd HAVE to get both if they made them

I agree that we should see more muscle cars too. A suggestion that I don't think anyone has made would be BMWs. Gotta love the 7 series But either would be very nice.
