Purchased 4 knock offs, 1 Microsizer on 5 freqs / results.
On ebay I purchased a cheap few Bit Char-G's / A's and a Haule Micro Racer on the Jp freq's (27,35,45,57). I also purchased a ZipZap and Microsizer on the American freq's (27,49)
Engines:
TT - 2.2
Haule- 2.2
?? - Char-A - 2.2
Microsizer - 2.0 ( upgraded to 2.2 ZipZap engine )
ZipZap - 1.0 ( upgraded to 2.2 ZipZap engine )
Range:
TT - 9+ feet
Haule - 9+ feet
?? - Char-A - 12+ feet!
Microsizer - ~6+ feet
ZipZap - ~5+ feet
Gear ratios were all equal, tires were all medium.
Speed in order of fastest to slowest from a standstill:
TT
Haule
ZipZap
?? - Char-A
Microsizer
Battery Life in order of longest to shortest.
TT
Microsizer
ZipZap
?? - Char-A
Haule
The Microsizer was poor in many classes but it had the best made controller and the best 'feel' of all cars. The import knock offs all had controller issues or alignment issues that had to be fixed before racing. Each car was raced in a number of different formats including things like 'Tag' and different forms of Soccer in a large area with no obstructions.
The cars were run nonstop for at least eight hours of hard play without any troubles. One of the ?? - Char-A knock offs did have a bad recharger on the controller, eventually it just started working again for no reason.
I hope this helps some of you make some choices about the cars you purchase. The Zipzap is a pretty good vehicle for the price if you can stand to look at the bodies. The Microsizer has some nice features but lacked the raw speed I thought it should have (it was using a zipzap motor in its defense.) Each of the knock offs had issues in one form or another but did cost much less than the Microsizer...
Later this week I'll post the mods done to increase range and some interesting finding with the suspensions...
