About 15-30 minutes, and NO AA's.

yes AA's, read the instructions. i assume you're looking at the charger with 8 AAAs that is next to the XMODS stuff? they charge AAs. i would venture to day 30mins -1 hour, 15 min is only the IC3s. i would reccomend spending the 40+ dollars on the RAYOVAC IC3s. the RS IC3s cost more and arent as good. the RS IC3s dont charge to 1.7 volts like the Rayovac ones do.

he is talking about the XMODS charger that only charges 4 at a time. Link here: http://www.radioshack.com/product.as...%5Fid=23%2D350

It says it will charge AA's, but they do not fit very well at all and take forever to charge. The AAA's will charge fully in 30 minutes

As for the IC3's, they are 1.2V just like EVERY other NiMh battery. The only advantage is the 15-minute gimmick charger.

at peak charge they read around 1.7 volts.

and not every NIMH battery is 1.2 volts. i have a couple of NIMHs that are regular C sized batteries that are labeled 2.4 volts. un

the IC3s are 800 MaH

No, all NiMh are 1.2V! The ones you have are not 'C' cells then. There are regulations behind the markings of 'AA', 'AAA', 'C', and 'D'. One of them being not to exceed 1.5V nominal. Otherwise battery companies would be burning up electronics devices everywhere.

BTW, that 1.7V off the charger is common among ANY battery. Put a load on it by placing it in the XMOD and measuring it even after fully charged. You'll get 4.8V which is 1.2V/4.
