what motor is better than stage 2

Ok so I dont rewind my own motors and al that stuff. I have been reading the various sites and have seen some motors being sold and also store bought motors being modded. If is was to buy a motor, what are the best ones to think about.

I was also looking at a team orion micro core modified t45 motor. Any good?

Take the motor out of a ~$7 Crest Spinbrush, rewind it, advance the timing, and all you'll spend is a few hours.

It's literally wrapping wire around a piece of metal, it's not hard at all. The Team Orion is a 180, I believe.

I've got the same problem. Winding sounds a little complicated for a fifteen year old (me). I would like to find a motor that doesn't require very much modding at all because my car is my baby and I could hardly trust myself when installing my motor upgrade. I'm pretty good at technical stuff and I have an engineer's state of mind, but I really don't know too much about RC cars. But I may have to wind my own if it's as easy as Joey says.

You can still use the magnets from the SB motors for a bit of extra torque on the S2 RS motors. Hell, if you want even more torque, use the SB armatures as well in the RS motors... Still better than a straight up un-mod'd RS motor - most definately not the fastest motor available though...

Crest SpinBrush motor, out of an electronic toothbrush. They cost like $5 or less anywhere... They are the same size as your Xmod motor.

If you take the motor apart and take the magnets from the SB motor and use the SB armature, its considered a SB motor. If you use SB magnets and a Radio Shack armature, its considered a hybrid - no matter which can you actually use. However, I would recommend using the Radio Shack endcaps and brushes at the very least.

Check out my no-pinion removal Sprinbrush Mod post in the science forum. It's really easy, as long as you have some good tweezers.

And Crest Spinbrushes are only about $3 around here. Just look in the toothbrush section of your local grocerystore.

BTW this counts as a spinbrush hybrid.
