New project ( VERY ORIGINAL! )
Hello,
After going through the supra gallery, and all the other Xmod galleries and i have come to a conclusion.....DUE TO LACK OF BODY ASSECERIES FROM RS MANY PEOPLES CARS ARE ALMOST THE SAME.....( Not to say that some peoples cars are not extremely amazing ) So i was looking for somting to set my car apart from all the rest and i came upon an old Datsun 240Z model that i never completed. I took the body and the wheels wells matched up perfectly. Besides being a little thin its a perfect fit. Im going to paint it like my dads car ( 1981 Datsun 280zx turbo ) and im going to have to find a way to mount it. Im sure the older members of this site know what car this is . So tell me what you think...Ill get picutres as soon as i can.

Well, if you finish yours, it will be an original, but there are two others on here alone that have used that body. Neither has shown the completed project, though.

Darnit!!! Alright who are these guys? maybe we can consult on how to do this...Have they not suceeded or just not posted. Im sure i can do this though....a little paint that im going to do tomorrow after school...just have to think of a way to mount it and im good...Ill post pics as soon as i finish the paint..also i get the feeling from your reply that you are mad....hmm...sorry i didnt know that other people already tried...wasnt trying to take an idea or somthing.... ...
-Later-
Edit: Just made a test run with the body on (its so thin that it hold itself up) and im happy to report that if you keep it in a certain spot then theres no rubbing.. Now just need to find a way mount it...Maybe using a body post from one of my 1/10 scale cars.....im sure that im going to have some day dreams in class tomorrow thinking of a solution.

VELCRO! Holy ----! Why didn't I think of that????????
That's brilliant. Now I have about 5 custom car bodies to go switch from the ghetto mounts I fabbed to velcro mounts. Jesus that's so awesome. I knew there had to be a good easy way to do it.

Hehe, now drill the hole for the antenna instead of sticking it out the window...
If you actually race with that body, you may find you need to do a custom front mounting tab to keep it in place.
Looks good, though...

Update: i got the Stage 2 motors and dropped in the drag and i also dropped in soft front springs and stiff rears.. Got the snow flake wheels and have soft tires up front and hard in the back....This thing is so much better.... Also me and my brothers civic used to be the same speed when i had my supra body on and now when i race him with this body its so much more faster (this was when ours were stock) and the 240z body is allot lighter then the supra...Only problem is the chrome parts break very easily...No more racing with that body!
I also found the guy that i got the velcro idea from, it was Ketis....he showed pics of the velcro in his thread called "my 93 Maro"..so you can check that out there...he did a pretty nice job...and by the way Ketis thanks for inspiring me!!! i wouldnt have had it mounted by now if it wasnt for that thread

Huge Z Fan
I have on order a 2004 Nissan 350Z Convertable! Can't wait!
I also had an old model laying around, Porche 911, but it works out pretty good...I have a lot more work to do like paint, fabric, window tint...etc. Anyways...can you show me how to mount with valcro. The only idea I have is on the sides of the battery mounts. Is there a spot for the front and back???
Here's a pic of my project so far...what do you think???

Josh350Zman, I mounted the velcro on the insides of the doors and then mounted the other velcro on the battery holders. This dosnt work out well on my 240 because the body is WAY to thin its barely wide enough to clear the wheels. Now im working on a exact "replica" of my dads 280zx but that body looks a little harder to mount ( longer ).
PS- my name is Josh too! lol
