SpinBrush Suggestion
I've been reading here and there about the spinbrush & I decided to go for it myself. So far I have tried just the spinbrush can, armature & the xmod rear. The results were nice, but nowhere near inspiring. I know some people were suggesting that you just keep it like this, but I thought there maybe more to extract from the setup, so I took my stage 2 armature from my donor motor & used that and OMFG! I don't even have fully charged batteries & the thing is sickly quick. We'll see once they're charged.
Now I maybe wrong in what I was reading and this is what I should've done from the start, but for those of you who didn't use the Stage 2 armature, I highly suggest it.

Yeah I tried this as well (stage2 armature in the sbp can) the results are pretty sick!

:shrug: People don't read what I post, apparently. The magnets in the SpinBrush motor are the key to the torque. Plug 'em into a stage 1 or 2 motor and you will see a big difference. Advance the commutator timing and you'll have all of the new torque without losing the speed from the stronger magnets.

Yeah neuro, I saw your post regarding changing the timing & we asked as to how you did this w/o a reply. I've heard that you can do this with the full size (1/10th) motors, but I didn't know you could do ith with the 130's. If you could explain how exactly to do this and what tools are required, I'd be greatly appreciative. Thanks

No tools required, aside from what you need to open the motor can. Just twist the commutator with your fingers. So that everybody sees it, I'll post the little tutorial in its own thread...

Which motors are you doing the switch with? The stock motor, stage 1 (85 turn and thicker wire), or the stage 2 (45 turn with 30 ga.)? I figure that the magnets from the SpinBrush combined with the stage 2 motor is what your using but I could be wrong.

I'm using the following:
SpinBrush Can (magnets)
Stage 2 Armature
Stage 2 Endbell

On one of my motors I used the Stage 1 armature & it didn't seem to work for some odd reason, maybe I messed up the reassembly but the thing had very low RPM but tons of torque... the underside of the car (where the electronics are) got very hot after about 2-3min of running the thing, so I just tossed the thing in my box for later. Oh well.

Another thought, I'm thinking of taking the Stage 1 armature & rewinding it... any suggestions on how many winds etc etc for decent good torque & high rpms?

Thanks sherifx for the motor info.
I was looking at rewinding the stock motor also for it has bigger wire (32 ga.??). Since this motor already has 85 turns I wanted to take it down to about 46 turn. What do you think about this??
Does anyone know where to get brg's for the little motors?

well... I just reopened the motor (stage 1 spin brush) & replaced the armature b/c the play stopping ring on the bottom was jammed against the wires, and I advanced the timing & reassembled it... it seems to be working better, and now that it's broken in, I'll throw it in my rwd supra to test it out.
Now I can't remember my windings & guage setup, but with higher windings & thinker gauge wire comes more torque, while with thinner guage & lower windings comes more speed right?
