Polished heatsink

Well, I finally got my stage 2 motors, and it's cool they come with a heatsink, but that cast aluminum looks nasty. So I whipped out my dremel, polishing wheels, and red polishing compound, and shined that puppy up.

She shined up nicely, don't you think?

Toothpaste has mild abrasives, and is an effective polish. Now that you mention it, I might go over this with some toothpaste, to get the fine swirls out.

dude, thats awsome, how long did it take? you shuld really think about doing that at a price for some people... nothing more than 5-10 bucks but hey thats good money if you get enough people... nothing but profit, no supply costs

Yeah, you know, if people wan it done I'd be happy to do it. Probably about 5 bucks.

I could have called it done after 20-30 minutes, but I went off on it for an hour. I'm just like that.

Well I'm not sure what other household products work as a polish, but another option is to take some 400 grit sand paper and rub it in straight lines, going the same direction to give it a machined look. That's what I started out doing, and it looked nice, but I quickly decided I wanted something shinier.

Will any type of tooth paste work for polishing it (i.e. colgate, crest, aquafresh...etc.)?
