With China opposing the war....
I've decided to halt all future purchases of micros directly from overseas. Everything, from now on will be bought from a US based company. At least we'll see some of the taxes and profits go into American hands and not bypass them altogether.
You should have seen how hard it was for me to convince my wife that the tv station USA was owned by a French company. She still doesn't believe me, but I told her if I caught her watching it, I'd take away the credit cards. Universal Studios is also French owned if you can believe it.
EDIT:
List of French products I'm also taking off my shopping list...
French products

that might be going a little extreme. it's not like TOMY was a US company that moved to china for cheap labor. like the Levi's Jeans scandal of 1992 where they employed chinese prison workers. now that was bad.
semi jokingly..if u are that serious, u might have to sit around in your fruit of the looms undies..they are pretty much the only peice of clothing that's still made in the good old US of A.
sad, my columbia jacket say's it's made in vietnam. most likely by a 9 year old.
Generalization..the french _are_ morons.
my real opinion....they are acting more like a Corporation than a Country. Corp=what's better for the business, screw the workers. Country=for the goodness/safety of the people. The french are morons.

That really is overkill stridex. I'm pretty sure the companies aren't government owned, although china's still communist so maybe I'm wrong.
I think you better listen to clint up there. Hardly anything is made here anymore.

"BUY AMERICAN"
Anyone remember those bumper stickers plastered on everyones "American" cars way back? Just some FYI...
Ford Taurus= 98% made in Japan.
Honda Accord= 98% made in America.
All I care about is that my metal stuff is made in Germany and everything else better work like it did for the pretty model on TV or I'm claiming my refund.

Does this mean I should start boycotting Peugot Bits now?
Thats it no more Peugot bits get to race with me. Unless you call them "Freedom Rally Racers", then I'm alright with it...

You guys make valid points. And buying micros from local stores can only help our economy. My only purchases, from now on, will be made from US based (i.e. Tinyrc, WalMart, RadioShack, etc..) companies. No more ordering from overseas(i.e. ToyEast, HLJ, etc...). This'll assure that at least one us corp/co. is benefiting from my purchase.
Can we all agree about boycotting the French Products?
"You know why the French don't want to bomb Saddam Hussein? Because he hates America, he loves mistresses and wears a beret. He is French, people ---Conan O'Brien
"I don't know why people are surprised that France won't help us get Saddam out of Iraq. After all, France wouldn't help us get the German out of France!" ---Jay Leno
"The last time the French asked for 'more proof' it came marching into Paris under a German flag." ---David Letterman
Next time there's a war in Europe, the loser has to keep France!!

Yes, now I have a good reason why I shouldn't stock up on $$$, I give it back to the economy (recent spending spree of like 100+ bucks )

You're completely right. If a moderator wants to move this or even just delete it, it won't bother me any. I was just upset last night after hearing China's comments.

understandable. emotions are high.
i dont like war but im not going to be like "war is bad blah blah peace" because if the human race is good at one thing it is fighting.
i can understand why a lot of countries dont want war.
i can understand bush's justification sort of and well unlike the nazis he gave warning for over a year.
i dont like this but it cant be stopped. i just hope its over quickly with as few as possible casualties.

France can oppose a war and still be a friend. I don't like the thought of war, but if it's all we can do to make us safe, then we have to do it.
Hey Stridex, those comments from TV shows are very narrow minded, and juvenile. Are you going to stop eating French Fries from American Based McDonald's now too.
This thread is worthless, I should have not responded.
I'm not trying to offend you.
