Fixing understeer?
How do you fix understeer. My car makes really tight turns to the right and really wide ones to the left. How can you make them equal? I can't figure out what way to tweak the steering spring.

i found that tweaking the spring is actually a BAD idea... i've had tons of steering problems if i mess with the spring... so i bent it back as good as it gets, but it's still not perfectly straight... i hear that the double steering spring helps a LOT for fixing the radii... i've had the same problem, but never had an extra spring to fix it.
to fix the understeer, and to counteract the strength of the double springs, you may want to try REMs, or an extra steering magnet...
understeer is not my main issue... spinning out is... so i usually use harder tires up front to reduce steering...
hope that helps!

I have the same problem with all my Bits/MSers. Tight right turns and wide left ones. I have not tried the double steering spring mod yet, maybe that is the answer. I just kinda adapt my driving style to the car.

not sure if this is a valid observation since it's a solid axle...but if there is any play in the rear axle..the tq from the gearset/motor powering the axle from the left rear of the car will make it turn ever so slightly more to the right. this problem is even more visible from the tq of a multi cell car.
the left rear angles forward, the right rear angles backward..car turns right...
it also causes your micro to flip when trying to go full speed reverse in a straight line too.

clint is right.
i had that problem with a few axles. jbweld cures that real good.
as far as the dual steering spring i didnt really like it. you have understeer on both sides. the return is really nice however. so if you dont need to turn sharply this isnt a bad idea.
graphite all of your friction points on the front end. this means underneath where the white pins come out(top and bottom of there and also where they come out the top. get rid of the stock suspension and find springs that work. also make sure the magnet is centered properly. ive found that clones are a lot harder to get going perfectly straight than bits.
and never ever ever ever bend your spring. you may as well go buy another car if you do.

I have dual sprins and an REM magnet. Do you think it just might be that the wheels aren't spinning smoothly?
