Single/Dual/Triple/Quadruple watch batterys...
Would using 2, 3, or even 4 watch batteries be as effective as a traditional dual cell? Because I have 3 of this one type of battery... And I could go to RS and get another one if this is possible. It would increase speed by ALOT! And decrease the weight of the car.

I'm pretty sure it would work, but how long will it last? Is it rechargable?

i thnk the watch batts are 1.5 volts and they have about the same diemeter as the stock batt. i think u could tape 3-4 together and put it on with no problen and it will give u.....
(1.5*3=4.5) 4.5 volts which is like what 4 stock cells so it would be cool.
but these batts couldnt have more that 50-60 mah each and theyre not reachrgeable so it depends if u r willing to but new batts each time u run it

These batteries are designed for very low current drawing applications, eg watches, calculators, LCD based games, etc....
They would die in bugger all time .
Don't let that hold you back though .

Actually, these batterys are the larger ones... Not the diameter of the stock batteries... I have 3 of my own... And one that is not mine, it is in my mom's hand held battleship game that she will not be playing anymore... And, I think my friend is gonna hook me p with a couple... Dam, this car is gonna fly

batts
i have these batts that are 3 volts each! whoah
and theyre like as thin as 10 pages of paper. U could fit like 4
ontop of eachother in the car it would have 12 volts. It wouldnt be very practical for everyday use but for like a dragster or something that needs only a quick burst of speed its good. I might try this out next weekend after i get some more batts from r shack or the dollar store (lol)

Those are like mine.. .I forgot to mention that mine are also 3 volts.. . This is gonna kick ass! I think I might just put one big fat one in it from my calculator....
BTW, why would my calculator have 2 small LED's in it? I took em out, and the calculator still works fine...

are you guys forgetting about the layman's mod? you can stack 3 of those in the stock batt location, and they are rechargeable. The prob with the batteries you have is that they do not provide much current. NiCd do provide a lot of current, followed by NiMH... Alkaline and the like have a lot of internal resistance, so they are not as good either. If you want a "short burst of speed" try capacitors with low voltage and high farrads.

I've seen the Laymans cell mod, and those cells are too expensive for me, that is why I am trying this. If it is possible and all, I will do it.

its like 1.75 for a pack with 6 cells... shipping is like $6, so i'd say get some other stuff while youre at it. i got 2 battery packs, some superbright leds, some cooling fans (heck, why not for a dollar... theyre like 14 at ratshak), and a good cheap $18 multimeter... go to Allelectronics
