Best way to mask for painting

What's the best way to mask these little cars when spray painting the body?? I have some paint for my old TAMIYA r/c cars.. I tried painting a couple of bodies and they just bled right into the windows.. it sucked! I used regular masking tape.. is there anything else out there that will work betteR?

If I remember correctly, most of the paint masks they use on larger scale lexan bodies are vinyl.

So, the cheap easy way would be to apply electrical tape over the windows, and cut to size. Chances are, since you're customizing you already have some lying around.

Other than that, you could go buy some of the good quality masking tape. (not exactly cheap, and you probably don't have it)

I think i'll pick up some of that tamiya masking tape... The one i used was hard.. maybe that helped in the leaking since it didn't "conform well" to the small shape. Thanks

Maybe you can use some self adhesive vinyl (cut in your design). I get mine from a local art supply store to make decals for 1/10 scale RC bodies.

Payaso is right!!! Liquid masking products rule. Microscale aslo has a similar product available at most hobby/model shops.

Use this stuff and say goodbye FOREVER to bleed thru!!!!

FYI we'll soon be offering pre-cut paint masks for most bodies in the Shop!
