Wierd Steering

Hey, I have a problem, and I was wondering if any of you could help me. You see, when I was adjusting the steering magnet, somehow I messed up the "centering spring". It's bent awkwardly and seems to be defective. When I put it all back together, I tested the steering. When I turn left, the car turn right, but when I turn right, it does nothing. I've tried to figure out the problem for hours, but my solutions are hopeless. Will I have to find/buy a new "centering spring"? Is it fixable? Please help immediately. I'm dying of boredom .

First off, it sounds like your magnet is backwards. As far as the steering spring, well you could try to tweak it back to close to the way it was. I wrecked my first clone in an attempt to make it steer 'Better'.........

Quick alternative you may want to try. I used a slide rail and some thin foam to align my car and it works a lot better then the centering spring you messed up. Looks like crap, but it gets the job done.

sounds like your steering magnet is in backwards....... and also one of your thin hair steering wires is broken, thats why when you turn the other way you get no response at all, trust me man, been there, done that, 5 times ! you just need to resolder the wire(s) back.

if it dont work, then at least you have a new Parts Car! haha......l8r

I have tried to fix the "centering spring", but it's no use. It bends every which way. I'll have pics posted up soon. Thanks for the foam idea Stridex. Might try that.

I bent one side of my steering spring when i was doing the REM mod
I mananged to somewhat straigten it, but now, my wheels only straigten when the vehicle moves.
*on topic* I have to agree w/ the other posters, i think u pulled one of the steering wires.

*off topic again*: has anyone done the dual steering spring mod? I saw it on a post in this forum; and i was just curious if it reduced steering ability.

ur spring should be fine...It should still be able to return ur magnet to the center of the steering box.

Okay, now I put it back together, and it has caused grey hairs to grow on my head. It won't even turn now. Any suggestions?

Question, will a Zip Zap steering spring fit in a Bit Char-G? Another question, will a Bit-Char-G body fit the Zip Zap chassis?
