First Bit body I have painted!
Just finished my painting my first Bit Body and I dont even have a car yet. lol. I am actually quite pleased with the results. Although I painted 1/10 RC bodies for 3 years its still an achievement for me . Although it looks really pinky in the pic, its actually Racing red (think Ferrari Red) wit a thin layer of pearl purple. These are both Pactra Lexan paints if anyone wants to know. Anyway, after the Pearl, I Sprayed it with clear to add a shine. The results were pretty pleasing, the color is red from some angles, and pearly pink from others.
have a look for yourself

hey those are real nice jobs... real clean.
Question: is the pactra paint acrylic or enamel?
I usually use tamiya acrylic (easy clean up)
Thanks

Pactra paints are laquers according to Testors. But basically it is a special paint that kind of eats into the lexan, so that instead of chipping off at impact, it flexes. The paint compound is also im suspecting a bit more rubbery, I dont know all the details. They are for clear lexan bodies (ussually 1/10, 1/18 etc) But since thats all I had, I used it and it worked great Heres a link to the Testors site (Pactra made by Testors) http://www.testors.com/Products.asp?...d=&cat%5fid=90

very nice...you should do some closeups with them on a bit chassis in good light...that would be sweet.

I would but. I dont have a bit chassis *yet* and my camera doesnt like closeups. But its 2.1 megapixel, so If I put them at the right range it should still look pretty good.

no prob at all! I wish you the best luck with the paints. They seem to work perfectly with the bodies and dont react with other paints types (ie. clear gloss enamel) Theres some pretty nice colors as well!
