No offence or anything man, but you just sort of answered your own question. It could be because he used it or becuase o few out of the whole btch of 3.8s have defects, not sure though.

Alright Kyle works for bitchar-g motors. He makes the damn motors himself, so I think it's probably a pretty good peice of equipment. As for the slow deal, he may have used it a bit, but consider yourself lucky you got one for free.

So I'm not alone...
I recently purchased a 2.6 and 3.0 Tomy motor for my first Bit and I experienced the same problems (well, not THAT slow but slow).
My car at the time was the white 27MHz Skyline that shipped with a 2.2. After burning-in the new 3.0 I gave it a run and found that it was slow — not only accelerating, but in the top end. To say the least I was very disappointed in the performance of the 3.0.
Last week as an experiment, I dropped the 3.0 in my friend's Bit and we both couldn't believe the difference! It ran as it should have initially — VERY quick!
Since that time I picked up a used yellow 27MHz Lancer and put the motor in it. It too ran faster than my Skyline but not as fast as it had ran in my friend's Bit.
This week I received my Skyline GT-R set in the mail and put the 3.0 in it. Finally! In this car it performs exactly how it performed in my friend's unit.
The 2.6 also runs great but my original Skyline Bit is a slug no matter what motor is in it. I have no idea why there would be such differences. I've even noticed that my roommate's blue 35MHz Skyline was faster when we first received our first Bits.
It starts to make me wonder about the consistency of quality with each of these cars. As another example, my new Skyline GT-R set came with a super long antenna on the car and yet a much shorter (about 6" shorter) antenna on the transmitter (this has resulted in a very short range) in comparison to all the other Bits I have. Very odd!
So what am I trying to say? I'd suggest trying the motor in another Bit before jumping to conclusions about it. You may find that it's something to do with the chassis and not the motor.

Hey Guys,
If you are using the 3.8 motors in any cars other than a Tomy Bit Char-g or a Hobbico Microsizer, then the 3.8 IS going to run like a 1.0 motor because clones and zip zaps don't send enough power to the 3.8 motors to pull the weight of the car. If you ARE using a Tomy or Hobbico car and you get a defective motor from me (even if it's free), you can return it for a new one. In fact, I will keep sending you motors until you get one that works for you. I guarantee my motors, and I hate seeing someone post that they are not satisfied with them. I WILL help you out.
And pakiplaya, is this defective motor the same one that you are giving away to someone for answering your "Best Frequency" question?
Kyle

A joke?! Dude, you make me ashamed to be a hoser. Stop your childish antics and get with it, loser. I think all of us are tired of you asking the same meaningless and stupid questions over and over again. But for some reason, you decided to lure us this time, so now you're a jerkoff. Get a car that works, then ask respectable questions.
