EASIEST range increase mod I ever did!

3 Step process.

1. Go into the chassis, lift the PCB board. Look at that extra length you've got for the receiver cord! Pull it out and Unknot the knot put in the receiver cord.
2. Using a 1.4mm screwdriver (usually come with the small screwdrivers kits), work a hole on the body where you'd like to put the cord through...Keep in mind that the MORE cord there is hanging out in the air, the better your reception and distance.
3. thread the cord through the new hole and enjoy!

I gained ~5 feet of extra distance from doing this! It was nice and easy.

Here's a couple of pictures...

Here's a closeup of the screwdriver I used and the hole made...That 1.4mm screwdriver makes a perfect sized hole too!

Oh, another fringe benefit...Especially for anyone with a 2.6 motor or faster...If you put a new hole in the location I did (just like a car antenna, in the US anyway), it actually HELPS as a counter steer!

do u need to drill another hole, or just unwrap? eitehr way, most of my cars rely on tape and the antenna to keep the plastic pcb cover on, cuz of the batteries and stuff inside.

lol let me rephrase. Do you have to untangle the wire, and drill a hole for it to go thru, OR can you just untangle teh wire?

kbtoyz,
Just untagle

MTL,
the antenna wire is rigid enough to hold up...Though I'll probably a solid wire cable replacement at some point.

i untied the knot last night..it seems to help
but for some reason it works better outside than indoors ;/
outdoors i can go like 50+ feet...inside a measly 10+ feet

There is a lot more interference indoors: computers, lights, fridges, etc.
