Takara's DigiQR site is up...

Get info on the upcoming new models (with LEDS!) from their site at http://www.takaratoys.co.jp/digiq_r/

Wow, these look very cool! Are there any other changes other than the LEDs? I found this a little strange:

http://www.takaratoys.co.jp/digiq_r/item2/drs_01d.html

Why does it say:

REAL
GIMMIK

Gimmick?!!

My guess is that the translator is getting hung up on whatever the pre-translated 'real gimmick' is.

My guesstimate is that 'real gimmick' means 'life like'...Usually the items that have a 'real gimmick' description have some kind of special "gimmick" to it.

Like these LED enabled cars, or some of the Choro-Qs that have doors that open or hoods with engines...

They look awesome!I want the Castrol GT-R!
Any plans on carrying them, TinyRC?
I know (I think I know anyway) they are not due out until December...

Yeah, looks like the NSX-R and GT-R have the headlights and brakelights (REAL) and the AE86 and RX-7 have the front turning wheels (RACING)... isn't this like the Racing Formula Digis (Front turning wheels)?

Exactly my thought.

I was/am EXTREMELY disappointed in the fact that the DigiQ F1s are not proportional steering...Thanks to Usagi (for reporting in about this) I'll be saving my money for other things.

If I understand it correctly; The front wheels are 'loose', when the rear wheels push the car to either side for steering, a kind of centrifugal force makes the loose front wheels turn to whatever side and therefore 'help' the steering.

I'm pretty intrigued as to how well it works, I just might pick up a RX-7 or AE86 to check it out.

I confused Namuna,

How is this different than the way the original Digi Q cars work? And, don't you already have one of those?

original digiq have front wheeks that are rigid and slide side to side when turning this is why diqiqs like to spin on slippery surfaces these new q's might have better handling on most surfaces
