need help with my booster

help!!!

my booster (35 mhz) seems to go slower than my regular (27 mhz) bit. both have a 2.2 motor and the standard gears.

dvious1, this is in fact how it is supposed to be. The idea is that you get more control for technical sections of the track, and then use the boost (which you should find to be faster than your other 2.2) on the straights etc.

thanks tinyrc.

do you happen to know what the ratio of the speed is between the the booster and the regular bit is?

i.e. a booster with a 2.6 motor will run as fast (w/o using the turbo button) as a regular bit with a 2.2 motor.

it seems like my booster bit is running like a 1.0 with a 2.2 in it.

i put a 1.0 on my regular bit and raced the boster with the 2.2 and they seem to be the same speed.

I'm not certain on the lower speed, but the boost speed is supposed to equal a regular BC-G +1 on the motor. So a 2.2 on boost is equal to a regular with a 3.2, a 3.0 on boost is 4.0 etc. I'm not positive, but I think that the non-boost speed may be -1.

yuck.

in other words, i would need a 3.2 motor in my booster to keep up with a 2.2 motor on a regular bit.

that bites.

Yeah, on the lower speed my Skyline is very slow, but with the boost on it is very fast. It also makes a weird noise on the lower speed. I just moved the button on the back of my 4 band controller so it's on boost the whole time.

That's only on the lower speed though. I keep mine on boost the whole time so with a 3.0 motor mine is much faster than my friends regular bit char-gs with 3.0 motors.
