ive seen people use wire and tie it around, but thats a hassle if u want to swap engines...
ive never done this, but id use part of a paperclip bent into an S shape.....make the top of the S smaller to hook on the metal rod, and then the bottom part, make the end of it sligtly pointed in the opposite direction so that it stays on the plastic tab...
the heat sink i belive is so that it doesnt get the plastic hot..although these motors never do since they are so small....but if u were running for 30minutes nonstop, theyd probably be hot then
also similar to heat shields or somthing similar in cars to where it blocks the heat from getting into the car, or near u..
