What do u do when you have no steering spring in your char-g???

When I bought my bcg something funny was going on. I would try to steer but my wheels would get stuck in one direction. Well I've been looking at some pictures of other Char-g I noticed they had a little spring on top of the steering thing with the magnet on it. I remeber that when I disected my car to see what was wrong with it, I never saw that spring .So I've been looking around trying to find a place where I can get this piece in order for my car to work. I'm really mad that I took it right out of the box and it was already deafaulty (spelling?) . Well if anyone can help, or notify me where I can find this piece besides having to buy a whole new car please notify me. Thanks
