thinking of getting a microsizer...howz the range???

Well last night i did a PCB swap with a bullet clone PCB and a Tomy bit chassis. Things were looking up, but the real road test prooved wrong. It seams as though the new bullet PCB isn't giving full power to the motor causing it to run slower. Not only that, but it isn't turning to sharp either. Well i've decided that i might as well get a Microsizer, but before i go and get one i was wondering how good the range is on it. I was alos wondering if it is possible to do a telescoping antenna mod to increase range (it should be able to because microsizer controller and TOmy controllers have the same layout right?) anyways, any help wouild be appreciated thanks!!!

i get 15 feet with my 49 mhz microsizer at my house. At my friends house i got less, maybe i think 8 feet. Probably interference (sp i know) at his house.

i think i know why i have such great range

The microsizer controller i have has no cripple cap inside it (just checked the qfm site). I was thinking it would have the cripple cap cause it's new

I've gotten better reception with the 49mhz controller. With a car antenna mod I can get 15 feet. The 27mhz without a modded antenna gets half that. I didn't do the telescopic mod to any of my regular controllers. I did do it to my booster controller and that doubled its' range to 8 feet. So with a car antenna mod and a telescopic antenna on the controller you should get good range.

well i went ahead and picked up a white 49Mhz Skyline and man am i happy with it. I have REALLY great range, i have about 20 feet inside with the antenna up all the way!!!!!! Man is it nice!! But one thing though, i did get one with a short antenna, about 4 inches with the knot untied.....hmmm.....but i'm not going to bother with it, i don't want to screw with the range anymore!!!

Forgot to add......i found the Crip Cap of the Microsizer is on the PCB board (on car). I don't want to mess with it, because i already have awsome range!!!!!

I didn't remove mine either. I just need about 8 feet of range to run on my track. I gotten all the range I need on my cars now.
