Zip Zaps VS. iRacer

Anyone know how the two compare? Which do you guys prefer and why?

ZZ $19.95 support and parts available coast to coast (in theory....)

IR $29.95 (cheapest I've seen) support and parts...you're guess is as good as any.

Right now, ZZs have a bit of an edge for these reasons if you want a good car to play with.

IRs are faster (like Digi Q), but who knows how long that advantage will last.

Semetimes, it comes down to personal preference...I really like my Purple PT Cruiser, but my IR Mini is pretty sweet.

Does it live up to its promises of a 10 minute run time and the long range of 15 feet? Also, how does the car handle ? and is the control as good as it seems?

15 foot is not long range 150 foot is long range.

Wow, a lot of people are having range problems. Granted, my 27 mHz cars [2 ZZ and 1 MS] have ranges of between 8 and 15 feet, depending on location, but my 49 mHz ZZ simply keeps on going!

I've had it go about 30 or 35 feet before running out of range at an indoor location [my LHS]. I guess it's mostly frequency.

Does anyone know how the range is on the 35 and 45 mHz Bits? [I know this is ZZ territory, but there are people in here with both, and I like both ZZ, MS, and Bits EQUALLY, for each of their respective qualities]

I bought an I Racer Mini, cool car. It looks great on my shelf. Seriously, it's a neat little car, but I have to give the nod to the Zip Zap. It's way more driveable. The I Racer, like the DigiQ has this wierd delay. You turn, the car has to think about it, then it turns. Oh yeah, it turns like a tank, ie, it steers by changing the speed of one of the rear wheels. The front wheels just slide around: they're made out of hard plastic. As for support, forget it. The people at NIKKO don't even know what parts they have, much less what to do with them. I would say buy the Zip, you'll have more fun with it. Unless you're like me and collect the little things. Then buy both.

BTW, I have an I Racer, 2 Zip Zaps, A Booster Bit Fairlady Z, and a Nakamichi N Racer(Walmart). Love them all, want more.
