Looks interesting, but what's better about it? It does look thicker.

the only thing i can think of is that maybe it opens easier than the stock cover. maybe it hinges open or something like that? i'm sure we will find out soon enough as it comes on the db9.

note that in the first chassis version, the battery was not protected/covered on the sides but this new version encloses the battery. the new gyro location probably has less negative effect on handling since adding even the smallest amount of weight can make a big difference (JMHO).

I had a friend of mine try and translate the small captions under the six little pictures of the Aston Martin and the battery door. He’s pretty Americanize so it’s sketchy but certainly better than me. I’m third generation Japanese and maybe could order a meal in Japan at best. Maybe…
Here’s his interpretation: The first four pictures is explaining how this latest 1/43 scale Aston Martin has a “coreless” motor for the steering servo that enables very sharp quick turns. It also makes reference to the IC communication to the Dnano server and something about displaying data. The last two pictures talks about this car using a type 2 battery and the battery hatch has a slant design for long nose bodies or something.

ah, all makes sense now it's a clearance issue with the battery and front of the autoscale

it's simply a redesigned battery position to allow for certain body styles ie; db9. i bet this will come in handy with the future bodies they have planned as well.

Future bodies? Oooooo, I wonder what we'll be getting! Can't wait for more good stuff!
I hope they bring us those Initial D cars, that would be awesome at this scale. If not from the Initial D series, at least the same cars.
