Revell RPMZ

I was in my local Wal-Mart the other day, and saw an interesting car there. They were Revell RPMZ. Looked like a Nascar body with some hop ups that come with the car. I didn't see the price, but it looked promising. It was roughly the size of the Xmods, maybe a little bigger. Has anyone tried one yet? Curious to see if they're worth it. I may go back and see how much the cost.

Went to Walmart at lunch to take a better look at it. They run about $60.00. They come with a faster engine, two sets of tires (slicks and treaded), different springs for the suspension, which is not a bad deal. They're made for Revell by Auldey. I'm not too familiar with that brand, but I remember seeing some cars by Auldey at a hobby shop. Looks to be digital proportional steering with throttle and steering trim buttons similar to the Xmods trim buttons. It requires 12 AA batteries! The Walmart I went to had two models, a GM Monte Carlo, and a Ford (not sure what model). They're supposed to be Nascar licensed, but they don't appear to be any particular racers, just generic Nascar cars.

I was tempted to buy one, but at 60 bucks, it's only 20.00 less than a Micro-T, and 20.00 more than a new Xmods now. I think I'll just work on building up my current Xmods now. But if anyone is thinking about it, it looks like a good deal with the hop ups included. I just don't know about the performance of these things. If anyone can shed a little light, I'd appreciate it.

i saw these at walmart as well and they look rather cheap if you ask me. i know they are supossed to be licensed cars but the graphics are jsut toyish looking. i would rather spend the extra $30 and get a licensed replica body from kyosho.
the 1:24 scale also does not fit with any of the other small scale rc's i have so they look a bit odd with my other cars.

From what I hear though, because they are 1/24, a lot of the Revell models will mount on the chassis fairly easily. So you could could conceivably get some really cool bodies on that chassis. I can't confirm that though.

Smile Ford Taurus

I got the Ford Taurus. Revell went back to the old school and took Tamiya's Tamtech 1/24 and converted it to a mini z style chassis. It is a true 1/24 scale racer, but uses alot of the same components used on mini-z's and x-mods. Awesome little car. I've already played around with different motors from my mini z real cool. This car flys right out of the box. Last night figured out that mini z bearings fit most of this car. Mini z performance, X mod price, and you can adapt 1/24 scale model bodies and acceories to it. I'm already playing around with aftermarket model parts I.E. tires and wings. Awesome car especially for the price. You wont be dissapointed.

Jada

It also looks great sitting on the shelf with all of my die-cast cars, such as Jada and Action. I experimented with a die cast body "1 Badd Mustang" a little to heavy but still faster than most store bought r/c's.
