Steering problem

I was wondering if anyone could help me with an intermittent steering problem I'm having with my Xmod. Just for reference, I have the Firebird Evo kit with awd, the suspension kit, and the lift kit all from RS.

The problem I'm having is my steering doesn't work all the time. It works sometimes, but sometimes when I turn the wheel, the car doesn't turn, and I usually end up bashing a wall or some object pretty hard. It happens on both directions. I tried picking the car up and turning the wheel and I get the same reaction. Sometimes the wheels turn, and sometimes they don't.

The problem seems to fix itself for a while, after I backup I can do figure 8's, but then it happens again, and I wind up crashing into something. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance for your help.

I would suggest opening the esc cover and looking for loose wires. The solder might have come off the steering servo and is barely touching the board. OR you might have something stuck on the steering servos' gear. Happened to my truck. Anyways, hope this helps.
