New Mini Z MR01 and Overland
I did it... Went back to hobbytown (for those who read my xmod post about this) and decided to try to bargain for their mini z overland and mr01.
The original tags on them were 2001. They had the MR01 marked down to $70 and the Overland $80. I asked one empolyee last saturday if they would come down farther... he said he would sell the MR01 for $50.
I passed thinking it was a bit much. I went back today to talk to the owner of the store and I offered him $100 for both, and he took the offer.
The overland is awesome... The control and range are great compared to the xmods I'm used too. There are also no wires to worry about breaking. I just wish the overland had 4wd capabilities....
The MR01 is a bit slow for my liking. It's easy to control. I was also hoping to be able to use some xmod tires, mainly the foam ones, but it looks like I'm out of luck.
Both look a little more difficult to put Lipos on considering the battery holders are where the bodies latch on. I might just have to 6 cell them instead.
It's nice now having something that drives around on carpet... Leaves a lot to be desired with the xmod trucks.

Nice score man.
I've got 2 MiniZ cars (MR01) and an OL m'self.
Z's are definitely a fun class, not to mention this is the scale where you start seeing SERIOUS people at the tracks/races.
If you want to get LOADS of Mini-Z info, make sure you visit TinyRC's big brother site Mini-ZRacer
Oh, and since you seem to be picking up all kinds of different RCs...Make sure you checkout the 1/43rd scale "Epochs" too.

I've been looking around for the epochs and can't find any... ebay has none. I'll definitely look more into them, getting late here though for tonight. They look a little spendy though... find me a cheap place to get some ;p
BTW, Namuna, have you ever had problems with that "T" plate in the back of your mini-z..... to me it doesn't seem that stable or something that will weaken over time. They're a little slow for me, have you done much to boost yours?
I have a lot of reading on both mini-z and epoch to do.... I feel i've mastered xmods so it's time to move on... Though I can't get away from xmods because they're so cheap.
Just expanding the portfolio I guess.... There's a micro RS4 on consignment at a local hobby store, just needs a reciever for $50. No remote, but i'm assuming the mini z remote would work..... i'm considering it.... probably be good with a 2s2p lip pack..... bah.... too much temptation all over.
I do have a buch of SS bodies and more than a few of them.... with no suspension they kind of suck... I do like they have the turbo and the reverse everything switch on the remote.... Definitely worth the 5.29 I got them for on amazon with tons of the booster upgrades for $.50
