really want an underglow
well guys im looking for an underglow but i am NOT going to ebay for it i hate ebay its like a drug im trying to quit lol but yea i was wondering how you could go about modifying the rs light kit to a different colour
now for my stupid idea- okay lol i remember a LONG time ago i watched a episode of the magic school bus and i remembered the pinball/light episode when one of the ppl just put a clear wraper that was coloured to a white light. i was wondering if i could take a marker (i read this on this site somewhere) and colour in the LEDS to the colour i want and the output would be that colour (or a mix of that colour and green

LEDs are cheap dude.. all you really need is the clip to plug into the xmod. You can get some from ZZ body kits for a couple bucks at RS if they still have any. I was going to go back through some of my xmods and put in head/tail lights with my own wired LED's... I can make them brighter and cheaper than buying the stupid kits.
The only problem is Blue LEDs are still expensvie. The material needed to make blue is way more expensive than any other color. While they have gone down in recent years, they're still a bit spendy. White, yellow, red, green, amber, these can all be picked up cheaply. You just need to find a neat way of mounting them. RS does use plastic to diffuse the light underneath the car.

Yes, you can. It won't be a pure blue or whatever, but it will tint the light. Assuming you start with a white LED. Trying to color over an already colored LED may prove more dificult.

okay ill check out rs but how do i wire it so that it runs on a coin cell (dont have any space lol) could someone make up a tut on that but yea about the clips why would i need that if i could get REALLY small leds and super glue them around my xmod and make a shield of like aluminum to direct the light downwards.

okay i can only find 5mm leds so i was thinking about buying one or two POWERFUL led thats as bright as hell (its gunna be red) and 4 not so powerful leds for the head/tail lights. could i set it up in one big circuit or is there a way that i can make it so that it can steal the power from my xmod btw would 3mm leds work for the head/tail lights (theyre red 3mm leds but its the smallest size i can find

Hooking up a circuit of LEDs is kind of complicated. You can't just wire them all togehter. You need resisters on each LED to ensure it only draws the current it needs and no more. The resister values need to be calculated with a formula for that purpose. A simple diagram ain't gonna do it.
I would suggest you look at the beginners electronics link that Namuna supplied in a sticky and then do some experimenting with a breadboard before you start working on your cars.
This is one that can't just be handed to you. you need to do some research and practice. You might learn how to do even cooler stuff while your at it.
