range issues
does andone know how to improve the range of the car?
i can only get about 10 feet before it cuts out and dosnt respond.
how can i improve o this?

Make sure you have fresh batteries in the remote. Also, do you have more than one set of crystals. I've found that even sets of the same number crystal will have poor range. I have about 3 sets of of the #4 crystal and certain ones work together and others don't.

i only have one set of crystals, the ones that came with it, but thre is fresh batteries in both car and remote.
even stil should it not go more then 10 feet?
seems kinda stupid if it dosnt.

i just though it would go more then ten feet.

you get wire the same thickness as the stock antenna and it will help make it go longer distances because that is what i did and it worked

There is a "range repair" some people sell. It replaces the two inductors for the RF system. It involves soldering the old ones off and replacing them.
I haven't researched it much, but you can fry an inductor and it will kill your range. That could be what happened in your case. Search for it and see what you find.
and yeah.... bigger antenna should be unecessary. We know there is a problem to begin with, fix the problem first.

custom antenna is the easiest thing

The thickness of the wire doesn't matter. The frequency of the signal responds to the length of the antenna. The length is matched to the wavelength of the signal, or fractions thereof.
