an idea
Here is a link to a picture album that I had posted in response to a thread in the TTTT forums but it itself really fits here.
It's just some possible ZZ-se offroad chassis plans I have been tinkering with.The drawings are very rough and simple still.
If you have time to look then tell me what you think.

Looks like you put some time into it! I started a stadium truck project awhile back, that never really went anywhere, but the front end is pictured below. That's about as far as I got. I ran into problems with speed and torque. In order to go fast enough to jump, and still have enough power to do anything off-road is tough with these little things.

Nice work, how far apart are your A-arm pivot points? Mine are right around 17mm as planned now.The overall width of my ZZ chassis will be much larger than stock but it will look like a RC buggy/stadium truck so it should be OK.
Working at this scale is a challenge.I find myself trying to come up with ways to make things work that are somewhat easy to make.
Like the a-arms will most likely pivot on a piece of piano wire from the hobby shop(small,strong,springy).The top a-arm will most likely have to be made out of piano wire also since it will also double as the spring.
I'm still trying to stuff 2 motors in there somewhere and it will have to use a li-poly battery.
I have found some very small bearings so most of it will run on bearings.
Since I plan on using a slot car crown gear I can change the orientation of the motor to vertical,horizontal front or rear of axle and still be inside the chassis.
I need to somehow convert the ZZ-se servo into a more useful compact servo.(Havnt even touched on that yet)
The drawings are still very rough and I dont think I have much more than an hour total into drawing them, they are just some idea's right now but I have thought a lot about it.
The fun will come when I feel I actually have something worth cutting/making.It would be better if I had someone local to me to help on this and to test run these once they are in the testing stage.

I'm interested in your rear suspension plans. That is probably the hardest part of making an off-road chasis out of these little cars. I leaned towards the stadium truck model because of their straight axle, but ANY rear suspension, never mind independent, is tough.
oh, and the front a-arms, fully spread, extend the stance to 4 centimeteres. The pivot points are 8mm apart, and the arms themselves are 9mm.

I could just take the easy way out and use the ZZ-mt front dogbones/axles for the rear axle but I think I'll just go with the simple dogbone setup.
I'm thinking the rear axle with crown gear pressed on then a round slotted aluminum piece pressed on each side of it that has been drilled out to receive the dogbone.The bearings would support the aluminum pieces, it could be very compact and simple.

The specs will have to be VERY tight on the arm/dogbone/suspension setup. With such tiny cars, there is little room for slop, especially with all those moving parts back there.

yep it will have to be cut to precision, time to clean and sharpen my hacksaw and files.LOL
Actually I think the cutting part will be near perfect as long as I plan the overall project correctly.
I'm hung up on tool usage right now which has an impact on the overall design/material usage.
Right now I'm drawing everything down to only 1/2-mm but the final drawing will be a little more precise and as long as I can get it cut very close to the final specs it should be OK.ZipZaps are a bit sloppy anyway.
I wonder how a little 1/64 scale stadium truck will handle on my 4x8 race area with some jumps and hills?
I may have to come up with some kind of O-ring,greased friction shock setup.
