mono-shock tut.
First if your wondering what a mono-shock is, it's a single shock tower that conects to both arms instead of one shock tower for each. Now moving on. for future reference: when i say the top part of the shock tower i mean the part that has the hole where you would screw it onto yhe arms and the bottom is the other half
Materials:
2 shock complete shoch towers(stock or grey upgraded, both work the same)
spring of choice( i used the stock spring but thats me, so use whatever spring you want. your handling experience for each will not be very different)
thin piece of plastic or metal that will fit in the top part(a toothpick will also work)
something that will cut the top part to make it shorter( i used a dremel tool)
Step 1: take your 2 complete shock towers apart so that they are the spring and the top and bottom part
Step 2: put the bottom parts away or throw them away because you don't need them anymore.
Step 3: get your piece of plastic, metal or toothpick and cut it to about 1/2 in.
Step 4: You must now put your piece of plastic, metal of toothpick, which will act as the shaft, into one top part, then put the spring you chose onto it as well. once your shaft and spring is one that one part. put the other top part onto the one you first worked on.
Step 5: Now heres the hard part, this part will take some time and patience. this step also is a step of trial and error. now you got to fit it onto the car. this is what took me the most time. if it's too long it will give you half the traction becauseonly the outsides of the tires will touch the ground. if it's too short it will work as an actual shock and if you don't like it you will have to start over. once you finally get it right it's easy to uninstall if you don't like and you can switch back to stock formation.
Step 6: enjoy your new racing experience
not tried on the front only the back. it seems like a stupid idea to put it on the front

they arent called shock towers they are just called shocks. you have a few typos that make it confusing you say to take them apart so they are just the spring and bottom but then it says to throw the bottom out. i get what you mean but its still confusing. i was thinking about doin something like this only with the regular shocks in place to make a trishock for the rear.
EDIT i just looked at it on my car. did you trim the shock tops? i looked and theyre about an 1/8th inch too long on each side.

yes i shaved the shock tops and sorry about the typos. did you do the tri-shock yet? if you didn't don't it defeats the purpose of shocks.

im only doing it on the rear it stiffens them by putting one in the middle mounted to the top of both shocks to act against them. im sticking to my swaybars the suspension is useless any way.

I tried the set up earlier and ran it on my Supra for a while I like the response the car had. But, since I need more space in the rear for tail pipes I switched back...

I'm doing some gutted out ZZ motor cans and putting an LED inside of them. If I don't do that I'll just do some LED holders cause it'll be easier. DUAL BTW...

HOT hot-glue is my friend... NEVER use Super Glue or Crazy Glue on a LED light... It like... EATS the glass bulb and leaves a hazy residue on them thats impossible to get off...
