Nimh vs Nicd Vote
Nimh vs Nicd Vote
which battery is better to have a Nimh or Nicd. I only have Nimh batteries. But i heard that Nicd batteries gives you more speed and acceleration. But the Nicd gives you less runtime then Nimh.
Batteries i use for Xmod
AAA Nimh Audiovox 1.2v 650mah (4)
AAA Nimh Rayovac IC3 1.2v 800mah (4)
If Nicd Batteries are better tell me the following
How many volts does Nicd batteries have? And what Nicd has the most mah? How much mah? And how much is it?
Vote for which is better Nimh or Nicd batteries.

go NIMH. nicds develop a memory quicker than NIMH. all the voltages are the same through out rechargeables, and the only thing they got going for them is their price. but i see that you already have Rayovac IC3s so stick with those, they are the best around.

In the case of Mini-Z Xmods and similar sized RC... the NIMH formulas make the Nicad forumals obsolete... if you get good quality nimhs, not the average cheapy cells, you will actualy have punchier cells than most nicads... nimh has come along way in the last few years...
The even newer IC3 cells totaly makes nicad pointless...
However when u get to 1/10 and larger, or aircraft... you will find a few benifits in realy good quality expensive nicads, but only if you are trying to modify and squeeze the last pinch of speed out of the larger cars...
Nimh is also safer for the invironment, even if it still polutes...

I have the Duracell NiMHs. They work great. I bought a dozen on ebay for less then $12 with shipping...all were unopened in the packages. They all kick butt...

if you can find some, do with the regargible Li-batts. they permently stay in your RC and run on a Outlet chager. well, on second thought... if you have the money for for this option...

My Rayovac Alkaline Rechargeables have 1.5 Volts, but I did not see a difference in speed from my IC3`s.

damn, whatever you do dont buy anymore rechargable alkalines. they are no where as good as full reghargable batteries. in all aspects the rechargable alkalines suck

Well, I agree in some ways,
they are great for mp3 players, cd players, radios, and flashlights, but not for RC.
After about 3 charges, one of them started to leak, which made it useless for anything needing 4 AAA`s.
Although I payed 3 bucks for mine, I wouldnt get another for the same price.

What a dumb poll...
I voted for Ni-Cds so they wouldn't feel too bad.
Ni-Mh technology is at a point where it's surpassed Ni-Cds in avery aspect (capacity, IR, Voltage, etc.) I think Ni-Cds have almost ceased to improve - and only because everyone jumped the boat to get Ni-Mhs.
Radioshack Ni-Mhs, for example, are about a year behind the times and should be compared as top of the line
