2 simple painting questions
i painted an eclipse body and while doin some details i required to clean up a mistake, to remove the unwanted paint i used nail polish remover, but now theirs a giant white fog on my door! what should i do to fix this, clear coat?
if i wanted to acheive this color below on the 350z body, could i use duplicolor metalcast orange over the stock 350z paint, or would i have to base the car with a silver first?
thanks for your time.

As for the nail polish fogging, I would just repaint that area. I'm not sure if the clear coat will clear up the fog or just lay over top of it.
When I make a mistake, I use a very small amount of paint thinner on a brush and gently brush the area where the wrong color paint got on just enough to remove that layer of color, but not the base (original) color.
I've never used Metacast before so I really can't answer that question, sorry.

thanks bc, as for the paint removing, i know the proper technique and all, its just i had no opps or paint thinner in the house, so nail polish remover was a last ditch effort..
as for the metal cast its a candy color, so what im thinking is to spray candy orange atop of lite gunmetal (like your cars color) i beleive this would call for a nice looking ride. thanks again for your help, hopefully tomm night after work ill begin to tackle my eclipse
btw what i was talking about with the 350 is just brain storming ill be broke until christmas seeing as all money that comes in goes straight towards buying my first car.. a 93 civic ex
thanks again for the quick reply!
