omg pissed
grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
well im pretty much a noob at taking off paint from an xmod and yea well.....
theres thinner and all that stuff to take out enamel paint
but NEVER USE ACETONE
well i didnt really know acetone is bad for xmods
my story is...
i was trying to get all the paint off of my xmod so i can repaint it in a gunmetal color, and i would have sanded it BUT, im not the patient type so i went for thinners. I asked the guy at walmart what is great for taking out enamel paints and he said acetone would be the best. I bought a big carton of it and filled up a small bucket. I didnt want to just rub the paint off with the acetone, so i decided just to let it sit in acetone for a while. WELL in about 5 minutes i pulled out the body frame to check up on it and it looked liek it was working, i kinda rubbed on it a little and to my surprise i wasnt just rubbing off the paint i was also rubbing off the PLASTIC! the whole body was very weak and wobbly and yea. well this just aggravated me so i just said screw it and i left in in there overnight. Acetone is very strong and it evaporates quickly, so the next day i checked up on it and all i saw was a bucket lined with plastic. bahhh guess im getting a new xmod : /

I'll buy the chassis. Or you could go to Cj's xmod faq, get the body's part number, and order it. It'll be like 12 bucks.
Edit: 9 bucks with shipping for a new body.
