Is a sb hybrid motor faster and/or "torqueier" than a RS stage 2 blue motor?

I don't think you'll need the FET upgrade to make a SB hybrid work with any gear. See how much current the motor draws at your operating voltage. If it draws like 1A with no load, then you'll probably want to look into getting a FET upgrade.

i have an sb hybrid w/ 11thoot(blue s2 motor). you do not need a fet upgrade. it well reach top speed faster than the regular s2 motor. it would take about 5-7 feet to reach top speed with 5 cell.

the team orion micro elite stock motor is a 180 motor right? if so, it is more torquier and since team orion is the people who makes it, it should be very torquey and has very good top end speed. im not sure though

It would, however, almost undoubtedly take longer to reach that top speed, at least in feet; perhaps not actual time. Good tradeoff, I'd say.

LOL, I'm sorry...I know I wasn't too specific.

I don't think you'll need the FET upgrade to make a SB hybrid work with any gear. See how much current the motor draws at your operating voltage. If it draws like 1A with no load, then you'll probably want to look into getting a FET upgrade.
|
With 6V applied, I believe the SB's are pullin' 250mA(no load). I can't speculate what the loaded current is, as I'm unable to run along side my xmod with an ammeter, but I just assume 2 to 3 times the current is drawn while racing. This is fine with no FET upgrades. When you start making alterations to numbers of turns and voltage, then your current draws will change. If you are drawing 1A no load, then you can assume 2 to 3A(or higher) while racing and your FET's would be hurtin'. Slap a couple stacks on there and you'll be ok.
