After reading a post on these message boards.. I decided I wanted to change my steering motor.. so I unscrewed the top board. Looked at it... I decided I didn't wanna mess with the little parts.
I then screw the top board back. After I do, I notice the antenna fell off. (I didn't see it come off) So the peg thingie the antenna connects to is still in tact. So I use electrical tape to hold it to it to make contact.. works fine as long as I don't remove the body too much. But that isn't all of my woes.
Now my car doesn't hold charge! I charge it and it lasts about one minute. What caused this? I didn't damaga anything but the antenna. (I think it just slipped off) Is the antenna possibly making contacts to the board it shouldn't?
If you're charging with the transmitter with triple A batteries in it, then the triple A's may have run down. Often times they are strong enough to work the transmitter but not too strong to charge the battery in the SE that well. Get some NEW triple A's and charge the car. take the car off the charger for a few seconds then charge it again. Heck do it a third time if you want but probably not 4. See how the runtime is at that point. For the antena, if you're old enough, invest in a soldering iron and try resoldering the antena. Or even better, take this time to do one of the antena mods like a guitar string.
Hope this helps
check to see if the batts are in rite way. (in chassis not Tx)
the polarity is reversed on an SE.
