Using non logic level fets WITH a regulator
Hey, decided i'd let the cat out of the bag and show a circuit i've been fooling around with for a while. this circuit allows you to use non logi level fets for the xmods raido board, might solve a lot of problems as finding compontents goes.The diodes are zener diodes, they'll conduct reverse voiltage @ 3.9v or whatever voltage you'd like, so 3.5v is seen as zero at the mosfet gates and only the 5v gets thru, perfect for most fets that require a difference of 5v to switch on. You can also use transistors to drive the mosfets instead of the zener diodes, U just thought this be easier  BTW i don't have two sources, i just did that to simply the diagram, peace

I'll have to look, but I think regardless of whether or not you use logic level transistors, the IRF4905 is the best P Channel FET out there. And it is that FET that is on backorder.

That's very true, considering the on resistance and other specs of the irf4905, but this circuit was designed if you couldn't use the irf4905( because of the popularity ) or wanted to try out some fets that are just sitting around without making a serious investment in time or money(more time in the fact that you'll have to wait for a shipment of irf4905 to come in AND then wait for it to arrive at your house ). Plus, i thought that it might help in designing a h-bridge circuit for yourself, i mean 4 zener diodes as opposed to waiting for several months isn't a bad preposition.

BTW the way , this circuit is the basis of an h-bridge AND a regulator for the radio, so check it out
