New Pricing

I don't now if this a national/regional policy, but my local Radio Shack is selling Zip Zaps for $24.38 (something between $24 and $25), noting that "Batteries are included." Not really a very good deal. Before they just asked if you'd buy batteries when purchased you one. You could, of course, decline. Now they're making you pay extra for batteries weather you want to or not.? The batteries are simply taped to the box. I already have plenty of AAA cells at home (and they were more reasonably priced). What's up with that?

P.S. What's up with RS asking people for their adress and phone number if they pay cash? They've been doing that since I remember. They used to send a catalog. They haven't done that in years. I guess that's my rant for the day.

Just wondering.

That really sux. I think it's regional becuase the RSes around here still have em at 19.99 and no bats connected to the package. The other cool thing is no more asking me for my addie or if I need bats.

Yea its incredibly stupid. I went to my local reptile shop to get some food for my snake & there just happened to be a radio shack near by. I went in & litterally had the damn thing in my hands ready to pay for it & the cleark says "Its store policy that we sell these with batteries. Now I also have plenty of AAA's but nooooo. So my dad told her forget it & we left. I incourage you to file a complaint to customer service cause I am in a few min.

Complaint Registered

Though I have as many ZZs as I need for now, I still registered a complaint. I encourage others to do so as well. By giving the store feedback about how you perceive their busness practices, you help to make it more likely to receive good service for yourself in future transactions. You also help other who will go to buy their products, hopefully, get a fair deal. I don't see why a person should pay $24+, and be required to buy a product they may not need, at the local store when the website clearly states that they are going for $19.99. Last week, I purchased a set of batteries when I bought a ZZ and my total was only $21.98. It just doesn't figure.

I also mentioned that it would be nice if the TFNTF Street Tuner Kit would become available online. When the local RS manager tried to have one shipped to my house, the system would not let him "finalize the transaction." None of the RSs in town have this kit, but 100 miles away in a small town in the middle of no where, the RS has 6. I declined on having them hold one and going to pick one up.

Too bad. I like my Zips. I'd put their quality just as high as my Bit and MS, and, with the new PCB, they seem to be just as fast. Radio Shack locations are more convenient than the local hobby shops that sell MSs. The pricing on upgrades is reasonable too, if you can get what you want. Oh well.

Plus when I walked into the store I had $22(2 for tax, 20 for ZZ) not $25. Now I'm probably never gonna get a zip zap. Not cause of the extra $$ because I couldn't get one yesterday & my dads making me buy a gay computer chair I don't want. HOPE YOUR HAPPY RS, AND STICK THAT IN YOUR PIPE & SMOKE THE DAMN THING.

BTW can I get a ZZ off you for like $5?

I noticed MS sport are $19.99 at target. Bwahahahaha! RS better do something fast... (I admit the clear bodies are inferior to ZipZap bodies though.)

Me & BitRace had that prob in Milpitas. I called a RS in Sunnyvale & asked about that. The really nice cleark told me there supposed to ask you if you want batteries with a purchase & that these places just give us a hard time (A$$holes in Milpitas) If you are looking for a zip in the bay area I would reccomend the RS in Sunnyvale by Toys R Us & Big-5 sporting gear. Realy nice people. I have a Gold Honda Civic sitting there with literally my name on it (They saved it for me)
