if u remove the battery holders, be very carefull that the metal part does not touch the heatsink, i did this and in less than a second the end of the battery cover melted, i fixed it easily, but i would rather it didnt happen at all.

Had you just been running the thing for fifteen minutes or something? I don't see how it'd melt unless the sink was on fire.
