Sorry to hear that. Its not the paint that ruined the tape. It was moe likely the tape itself. If it was old tape lying around the house or cheap tape, thats the reason. I went to wal-mart and went to the paint section and bought the most expensive (BLUE) masking tape. It was still only $2.50. It is made especially for painting and to be easily removed with no "glue reidue". Now that the glue is on there, you might want to try lighter fluid on a que tip and carefully swipe the areas clean. (remember to test an area that is not visiblw first so it dont ruin the plastic). I use lightert fluid to remove any sticky residue from plastic and its been fine. I suggest to check mirst to be safe.
Anyone else have suggestions?

i got see pages also....
on the 3rd time I painted my civic, I got see pages from the primer. It was not so bad on the hood, but the windows got primer streaks and I have to repaint the windows... But my friend said to use "painters tape" or something like that. it is thinner and it won't cause the paint to seep through and cause those ugly see pages... Well good luck with your painting

update*
i used this stuff called goof off and it strips everything.. just like paint remover. i removed all paint from the car... including the base yellow paint. the whole car is white.. well mostly because melting paint doesnt come off completely and it looks like **** but once i sand tonite and primer/paint itll look pro. i was going for the Top Secret auto skyline or supra gold color.
