if I use primer before I paint my xmods body will it not get blotchy?

Not if you do it right. I highly reccomend using primer anyway or you may have trouble with the paint sticking.

just get scotchbrite or sandpapaer scratch the paint up quite a bit.. then primer it down after u block the windows , allow 3 to 4 hours to dry then do the finall paint then clear coat if u want 2

It isn't a might problem with maybe having the paint stick or not lol. It's a complete problem. Primer gives a surface to stick, and on a smooth plastic there isn't really anything for it to stick to, so it just bubbles or runs. So use primer, it's a must... god kills a hamster everytime you don't use primer on rc/model car bodies...think of the hammys...
