has this ever happen to you?
the little clicker button mechanism on your controller just doesnt work?
it has happened to my one of my friends...
i cant go forward now
im pretty sure its fixable if i replaced it, but its going to be hard to find an exact one, im not too sure if radio shack had them
but before i head on over, is there any way to manually fix it?

And they're off!!! (their rockers)
First of all do you mean the actual plastic button or the button switch that is actually on the circuit board? If you mean the button switch than yeah that has happened to me once as well. I had to get a replacement from Hobbico customer service (kudos to them for the free and very fast replacement). But since getting my replacement I figured I'd try and fix the old busted one to serve as an extra. So after searching all over for the right button switch I had to settle for one that was slightly bigger than the one on the board. Anyway it's a big pain in the butt to remove that little button switch. I currently don't really have any equipment to properly desolder so I've basically just been heating the solder with the iron and then scrapping some away, heating then scrapping, etc etc. I still have yet to be able to remove it. I'm not sure if Radio Shack carries the button switch you need though...I never actually tried there for one. So basically I'm in a similar situation. Anyone know how to easily remove a button switch from one of these controllers?

dirty switch
I just had this problem today and solved it. Disassemble the controller first. then I just dripped a little electrical cleaner in the foward switch and pressed it about 20x shot a little blast of compressed air and presto no more foward surging. Hope this helps.

well what i found out from OPening up a micro switch from a clone controller is that the clicking is made by a small concaved metal disc. The concaved part is facing down. Under the metal disc are small metal conacts. It's my guess that when you press down the metal disc comes in contact with these metal contacts and that makes the car turn. It's like snapple cap. Pushing down on it is like pushing down a snapple cap and makes conatc with the conacts. It's my guess that since you have no "click" the metal disc inside it stuch downward. Maybe you puushed to hard on the button and that made it stay down. I don't now any way to dissassemble the switch without breaking it, but it is worth a try. If all esle fails try radio shack to find some microswitches like the ones found in the TX.
