the only problem you will run into there is that slot car motors done run off of low volt batteries. they need wall juice, and lots of it.

Yah, and they usally are about 10-20 turn motors they have in there. Which would blow your esc.

Would it blow your ESC with a FET upgrade?

chances are even with a fet upgrade it wont move very fast. you have to understand that those motors need alot of power, power that 4 or 6 batteries wont supply. if you have one, look at how thick the wires are around the arm. just my 2 cents though

They will work if you can get them to fit because the BRP cars come stock with a 16d motor in them, but they are ran off of 12volts on the slot car tracks, so you would probably need to use 5 or 6 cells
I dont know how well they will work with 4 cells

I dont see how it would fit without major modification. And then, you would need ALOT of power to it unless there is some converter on the slot car track that converts to power. I dont see how that little motor is able to run straight off the wall juice. I once plugged a 1/10 scale motor directly to the wall in my house and let me just say .......FIRE!

My buddy owned a slot car shop and I worked there for him he used a 12volt battery that you use in your 1 scale car or truck and he had 2 of them he would use one one day and charge the other one for the next day as for a xmod I dont have one but I do have a mini-z overland and yes you would have to do a lot of work to make a 1/24 scale slot motor fit, I put a custom built group 20 motor and 6 1800mah AA's in a old BRP fun wons and it was a bat out of hell and real hard to drive,

that sounds awesome! Id just like to get this car movin a little faster. Im working on a spinbrush motor right now and on some paint for my skyline. I always have some crazy thing going on with me and my toys! Im thinking about trying to put a micro servo, ESC and reciever in the Xmod. I found a micro ESC that can handle 20 amps! Then I could dump a huge motor in her.

do you know what the current draw is on the motor? Or the number of turns?

This is the response I got from Parmapse about using these motors in Mini RC cars
"The problem is the Slotcar motors run in the opposite direction so they will
not work. The Armature will not work either."

Thats why you take the motor apart and reverse the magnets or just hook them up backwards THEY WILL WORK if you can get them to fit,
