yes, they keep the esc from getting fried during braking, when the motor is actually creating power, they also cancel some sort of frequency the motor gives out during operation that can interfere with the controller/pcb of the car.

ok well first of all you asked this is your thread (which is a ripoff to mine... no hard feelings) and also its been answered like 10 times...
second theres nothing not to get any motor (including the presious spinbursh needs a capaictor, fyi a capacito is the lil tan circle thing on the wiring of the motor) if you dont use a capacito your receiver wont respond when you use you controller, and if it miracurously dose , the motor will explode (when you are moving foward and hit reverse, current passes in the opposite direction and so you motor will explode) so to answer you question, yes you do, even on a spin brush and on any motor that will ever be created...

i know what your thinking (ive thought it too) neither of the two thingys soldered to the motor limit its power or slow it down, by taking either one of the thingys off you'll simply hurt your motor

Yes. You have to solder them onto the side of the motor. It's pretty simple. Just solder it to mimic the RS motors. Or you can desolder the capacitors off of the stock RS motor sides and use the endbell from it onto the spinbrush motor. That way you eliminate extra soldering.
