rs motors
me and my cousin were talkin about motors and he said he was gonna try the motors they have at rs (the ones that you find by the led's and battery holders) i told him i dont think they would be fast enough...any one tried one? or can tell me if they are worth a try

I tried one, they are junk. The brushes are the cheap type that is not made for much more than 1.5V, and they don't even use a brass bushing in the endbell. The motor shaft just rides in greased plastic. Not even worth robbing parts out of, IMO.

I've used them in other cars, never in an XMODS or anything of a similar weight, but they've never been very fast. At all. I used them when I first started playing with electronics, so I'd do the dumbest stuff to them, and they're at least pretty darn resilient in my experience.
That's about the only redeeming quality I can think of.

If there cheap and you would like to mess around and try new things out, then go for it. If nothing else, tear the sucker apart and find out what makes them run...Good luck!...

thanks guys...we are just gonna try something i have seen on here...its the crest sb magnets in a xmod motor and see how that works..if that is no good ill just try to find a fast motor some where else...oh and another question, if a motor has more winds than the xmod motors will it be faster? im new to this stuff and have been reading forums on here for a while..some one help me out..thanks
