Frustrated With Bits

OK, I just got the Blue Skyline bit and started running it, I got about 1 foot of solid reception...no joke!!! 1 foot. I then immediately put a better atenna on the car, and a telescoping atennna on the controller and check for the cripple cap but there was none. Now do you know what my range is??? 2 feet at best!!! I also have the initial-D set, that gets about 4 feet w/o mods....

Now my Zizzaps get over 20ft....what the hell is going on here?

This is getting real frustrating, cause supposedly bits are supposed to be better, but I have not seen one reason why...

most likely you have the 35mhz and 45mhz right? i heard that those are not FCC approved. so that means you're bit char-g is interfering with something else around the house. thats the reason microsizers only come in 27mhz and 57mhz
correct me if i'm wrong

did you look on the PCB for the cripple cap? I've heard that some shotty soldering by the manufacturer can REALLY hamper range, so you may want to look on the PCB. For more help, look at mod #29 on Quest for Madness . The mods are on the left. And I've actually got the 45mhz accord, with about 20ft of range.

look under the controller

have you opened the GTR's controller and looked underneth it? My blue GTR has 2! yes 2 extra caps on the bottom!! that helped alot plus the PCB board has an extra cap...yeah go check out quest's car rx boost mod. it will help alot or do nothing at all..it's gamble but it's completely worth it if you get like 10 more feet in range.

cheers

I think you meant to say that microsizers come in 27MHZ and 49MHZ.... It's all good.
