11/26/03 at 10:48 PM: Death of my Xmod

unfortunetly, my xmod DIED yesterday. it was such a sad day, i had only had it for 4 days. what happened was that i was driving it and then all of a sudden i started hearing this crackling sound and smoke came out. then it stopped working. i have to go tommarow and exchange it since they closed on thanks-giving.

is there anything i should jack from it before returning it that they wouldnt find out? or should i just give back everything.

plastic lug nuts. body screws, tapered screws on the bottom. just make sure that you replace the tapered screws with the body screws so it'll be harder to notice. with i would have thought of that when i was going through a skyline every other day.

i dont think they all will smoke. i think you just got a lemon(many of those though) if you trade it in make sure everything is sealed!! look at the body through the plastic and see if there are any scraches. if ther are get a different one. expessaly on the front bumper. just my 2 cents.

ok, i got my new one today. i decided not to keep anything from the old set. i got another white supra. it works good. i decided to take really good care of this one. that means, no carpet crawling, no off road and out side driving, and no 2 hour strait racing. also, no playing chicken with my friend.

err if that's what u did with ur old one i dont think it's rs's fault urs broke. if u went 2 hours off road u'll kill it. those things arent meant for offrode stuff. they can go outside but they are very low to the ground so if u tried to climb stuff with it, it break it...

Exchange it for another one. My friends and I have had zero problems with our XMODS. I have a Skyline.

Come on, you can tell us. You tried running it with a 9 volt battery didn't ya? :P

Well, now that explains it... You didn't tell us all this before! LOL

I refuse to run my Skyline on carpet, even though the book tells you you can with the foam tires. All the lint and crap will get caught up in your gears and axles and such. And because they are so low to the ground, I don't run them on anything but smooth surfaces like tennis courts and gyms.

Good Luck with the new car!

playing chicken with my friend was rather entertaining. getting carpet material and hair out of the gears is so hard becuase of all of it getting wet and stuck in the grease.
